I’ll tell you this much, this has certainly shifted my position of The Republicans as untrustworthy liars. I guess that opinion has been forming for a while, but it’s cemented now. You can’t reason with liars, you can’t trust liars, all you can do is defeat them and get them off the field.
This whole “Obama did it too” argument just goes to show how totally serious Republicans are about reform and making a better government
America’s Brexit is when Trump takes the Federal government and secedes it from the union. FOX will have Mark Levin on 24/7 trying to explain it to people.
> How do people flip from mocking everyone as snowflakes to being the ultimate victims and snowflakes themselves and not bat an eye? Not have an ounce of cognitive dissonance?
Because it’s a strategy. They understand that the overriding goal for everyone on their side is to win. So they can swing wildly from preaching accountability to mustache-twirling because it’s all just a means to an end. When you experience the cognitive dissonance, it’s softened by the fact that your team is kicking their asses.
Why is it that Graham can go on CNN and lament The President like this is the misstep of the decade, then he goes live on Hannity a few hours later and doesn’t mention a thing about it?
Wait, what evidence? Nobody has presented evidence. All I’m aware of is an allegation. What we have evidence of is Trump trying to coerce an investigation of a political rival out of a foreign power. If the Trump camp had _evidence_ they wouldn’t need this underhanded investigation.
I like how Trump’s takedown of Biden is beat-for-beat what they accuse Joe Biden of doing. Can’t we just arrest them both and call it fair?
Mueller reminds us all that he investigated, and wrote down his findings in a report. Really didn’t say very much more than that.
Ironically, testifying probably will help Trump unless he has some bombshell we haven’t heard. The strategy of acting like it’ll be damaging helps Trump set the long-term expectation that there’s nothing to all of this. Trump’s theatrics help him.
The double standard from the right is intense, it’s hard to believe they don’t see the hypocrisy. FOX news tried to hit him with this last night. “You can elect to pay more in taxes, why don’t you?” type of argument is so weak I can’t believe they tried to hang a whole discussion on it.
